When you make history, 
you become part of it.

You can't be a part of history without becoming part of the future. Just be sure the future you affect is better for having you a part of it.

Many statues & monuments have been erected to honor people.

Every one of those people are remembered for what they DID,

and not what they merely complained about. I've never seen a monument erected to a critic or a whiny crybaby (unless you count odd Uncle Fred...we erected a large pile of poop in the back yard and a plaque commemorating what a huge shithead he was).

When you DO...

you become a note.

Groups of notes become a musical work. Notes can be as beautiful music, or mere sounds of discord. A note of discord frequently becomes nothing more than momentary noise.

MUSIC is usually remembered with fondness. WE ARE REMEMBERED for the music we became.

ALWAYS REMEMBER (DONALD)...

WHINING IS NOT MUSIC. Like other things, it can occupy space and seem to be important, bringing momentary relief...but in the end it is NOT YOUR SONG.

Always UPlift, never DOWNdraft.

Don't just sing your song...DANCE TO IT. DANCING is contagious...pass it on. If I couldn't dance, I think I would die. If I sing, I live longer and better. If others join in my song, I am a chorus. If the music brings joy, WE ARE A SYMPHONY.

Life brings you choices.

YOU can choose to be screeching noise, or a beautiful concerto...and within the latter, each moment building on what came before, the result is a song that lives on and on.

THE MUSIC IN YOUR HEART IS YOUR THEME SONG. The theme for a work of art that is the story of YOU.

No one understands when the epilogue precedes the prologue.

It puts the cart before the horse, and in the story of life that usually doesn't work out too well.

No one expects you to do the impossible. YET, many people do do just that.

It IS important to do what you can, where you are...to give of yourself and your talent and gifts

that which comes from inside. When you DO, you become your own history. Your own future. It is in the things we DO that bring life's greatest meaning.

The satisfaction you feel for having DONE is in and of itself, life's greatest reward.

Life was NEVER MEANT to be a spectator sport & no one is EVER remembered for merely watching.

Whether everyone sees and remembers YOU is NOT as important as their hearts and lives having been touched by what you DO and give.

Some people sit through life and merely watch. Some people report on life as it plays out on the stage of history. Others are the actors, reciting dialogue that is being written as they live. Giving verbal emphasis to the scene being displayed. Life's punctuation, if you will.

Life is NOT a one-act play.

It is a series of acts performed over time to an audience who

sometimes doesn't even realize they are in a theatre. To reach the back row of the theatre, you must project yourself that far. TO NOT REACH those furthest from you renders WHAT  you say meaningless to them.

History remembers actors. The good ones and the bad. It NEVER remembers the audience.

Making a fool of yourself when you are alone risks nothing. Out there on the stage, you risk everything except one thing. Your bravery. (*this passage dedicated to Mustafa Kazemi)

No one will ever long remember you when you're asleep. Make sure they remember what you do when you're awake. If you are asleep, your audience will join you.

Life begins with YOU. So does whatever history you become.

BECOME MORE than your circumstances.

DO NOT EVER DO so that others will love you. DO whatever you do so that YOU will.

BEING REMEMBERED FOR BEING HATEFUL...is a shitty way of earning your place in history.

GOSSIP IS A KILLER.  

GRACIOUSNESS OF SPIRIT NURTURES THE SOUL.

We remember Hitler because what he did was noteworthy for being horrible and we remember Mother Teresa because what she did was inspiring.

Life is ART. Don't be content with looking at it.

BE it. 

BUT never be content with merely being good to look at, because if there is NOTHING BEHIND the face they see it will be as hollowness and emptyness to a world hungry for food for their souls.

As we touch the hearts of others, 

we touch the very core of ourselves.

Life can seem fleeting. Going with the flow is the easy part. Swimming upstream to do something that is needed is not.

But the river of history will take note of the effort.

IF your deeds ever become the name for a body of water, make it an ever-flowing river. NOT a cesspool.

Some people prefer the shallow pool. For others, the challenge of the rapids is their domain.

Driving with the flow of traffic is often the best way to get somewhere. But driving against it is sometimes the ONLY way you will.

Noise distracts. Music inspires.

Wanting to make history in what you do can be admirable. Being a part of the future ensures your place in it.

The key to unlocking the door...is putting it in the right slot. The key to starting an engine is putting it in the ignition AND

TURNING IT ON.

You will NEVER BE a guiding light...until you first turn the power on inside your heart.

You gotta plug yourself in before the energy juice starts to flow.

Do NOT just make waves.

BE one.

Don't just make money.

MAKE SENSE.

LIFE is like a light bulb.

HATE burns itself out fairly quickly but LOVE burns eternally.

The greatest of those among us are those that do, not those who merely exist.

Some people find themselves in danger and wonder how they got there. Others wonder how they could for that moment in time

Moments that test US are the moments that speak to the character of who we are.

One should never aspire to be a blank page on their own personal story.

The greatest life lived is the one that was lived with everything you got. Go for the gusto. LIVE OUT LOUD.

WHEN YOU BETRAY YOURSELF,

YOU BETRAY FAR MORE THAN YOU.

To have the courage of ones own convictions requires first HAVING convictions. If you are not comfortable with your own convictions maybe you need to get to know them better. If you aren't comfortable with your principles, perhaps its because you have ignored them for far too long.

If you feel incompatible with others, maybe you need to look at yourself OR maybe you need different others.

A SMILE, A LAUGH, BEING SILLY...is not only the BEST form of entertainment it's also the BIGGEST bang for the buck.

GIVING A SMILE IS CHEAP.

BEING ONE IS PRICELESS.

Sometimes having reached your destination is not as important as what you did on the way to getting there.

If you become good at doing the little things the big things will be easier to accomplish

I love listening to a beautiful song but I would really rather BE one.

Don't wait for life to overtake you

A STATUE is only a tangible reminder of the LIVED LIFE it depicts in stone.

No one whose heart is made OF stone...will ever be immortalized IN stone without creating stony silence in the hearts & faces of those who see it.

A WARM EMBRACE, A HUG, is worth more than ALL THE STREETS OF GOLD IN HEAVEN, to the person who sorely needs one.

THE BONDS OF FRIENDSHIP ARE FAR BETTER than the shackles of loneliness.

TO HAVE A FRIEND YOU MUST FIRST BE ONE.

TO BE MORE THAN YOU ARE IS HARD. TO BE LESS IS CRIMINAL.

DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE DESTINATION ANYWHERE NEAR AS MUCH AS ENJOYING THE JOURNEY...

LIFE MAY BE THE ULTIMATE EXPERIMENT BUT IT WON'T BE IF YOU BLOW UP THE LAB.

YOUR VEHICLE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE ACCIDENTS YOU DON'T CAUSE.

WHEN YOU INCITE KINDNESS, 

YOU ENSURE IT BEING RETURNED and you will NEVER go to jail for being A SMILER. They may find OTHER reasons, but not that one.

A SMILE IS A DEADLY FORCE.

IT KILLS FROWNS and bad attitudes and rumor has it it can even brighten a day for someone whose day isn't.

A person who laughs easily and often is often misunderstood. Some think you're nuts, while others think you merely don't understand HOW AWFUL SERIOUS life is. BUT we know the truth don't we. Those who laugh easily and often LIVE BETTER & LONGER than those who don't. YUP. Scientific fact. The FUN kind. SERIOUSLY!

If I can laugh with you, it makes it AWFULLY HARD to hate you.

Loving YOU can be difficult at times. Loving ME can be damn near impossible. But LOVE can make the life we share SO much better than so many of the ones we see all around us. Love doesn't make the journey any easier most of the time, it just makes it BETTER...ALL the time and then there is the make-up sex.

If YOU let me love YOU, and I let YOU love ME, hating becomes irrelevant if not impossible.

Love brings a desire to know & understand. Understanding brings respect and affection. THAT makes HATE disappear.

Traveling at warped speed is fine up to a point. But you gotta stop at the rest area once in awhile to smell the roses...and PEE. NOT smelling the roses deprives you of their sweet scent. NOT PEEING makes you TOXIC which STINKS.

Diapers are for those whose SHIT is uncontrollable.

If I had a British accent (instead of a southern one), I WOULD NEVER shut up. If what I say sounds intelligent, thoughtful, and funny...no one will ever want me to.

SMILES are like boomerangs. Toss one out there and watch it come back to you.

I DO NOT sweat the petty stuff, and I DON'T pet the sweaty stuff...ok, sometimes. (SMIRK)

PROCRASTINATION is putting off til tomorrow what you can TOTALLY FUCK UP today. Besides yesterday is full and you're still working on last week.

If you don't vote for the donkey, you're a REAL JACKASS.

My S.O.P is simple. Do unto others as I would have them do unto me. NOT GIT 'ER DONE BEFORE THEY CAN.

POLITICIANS are like tying the garbage to a boomerang.

I REALLY NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE a group of people WORSE than used car salesmen. BUT, as I look at our current crop of Politicians...they have managed that dubious distinction.

Please do all of us a favor. Keep your hate to yourself. That way we can all be spared of dying in the imminent explosion with you.

SOME PEOPLE...do not need to wear a sign saying they're nuts. We can tell that RIGHT OFF THE BAT (Shit crazy).

I think someone must have told the Congress it was bed time. Course we had to wake them from their naps to do so. 

Telling someone to pull themselves up by their bootstraps is REALLY RIDICULOUS, after YOU have taken away their boots.

Some of the FINEST ART EVER SEEN is that which still walks amongst us. If you have been inspired by someone, you have looked at something far more wondrous than the great masters hanging in the Louvre. 

If someone touches, touch them back. If somone feeds you, feed their heart in return. If someone sings you a love song, BE WORTHY of what you hear. If someone reads to you at night, the sentiment is more than the words being read. If someone brightens your day, be a ray of sunshine in theirs. If someone thanks you, be gracious in your response. If someone loves you, be worthy.

The greatest gift of love is the hug of friendship.

BE a gift to others and you will experience Christmas all year long.

If you want to deserve a new year, make THIS one count.

Just when you thought you had everything you needed, a new friend comes into your life...& suddenly you wonder how you ever got along w/o them.

It can be a very humbling experience to discover that everyone you know thinks the Dr. who delivered you should be sued for malpractice.

The people who try to convince you that they know everything only demonstrate they don't and they annoy the FUCK out of those of us who actually DO know everything.

Even the smallest minds are capable of the biggest ideas.

It's sad to see someone be hated for doing nothing more than being who they were created to be and who has the right to condemn someone else for what is basically their God-given self. In the end, the accuser/phobe will be the ASS, not the accused.

SO, just exactly WHO WAS IT who died and crowned YOU queen for a day.

If you are Waffle House, don't try to pretend you're Steak & Ale. No one will believe it and the tips will be terrible.

If you were born to serve, SERVE. The pay may be lousy but the fringe benefits are FABULOUS.

Some people may indeed be TRULY HOT, but it can take some time before you burst into flames. Let the heat build and the fire within you reach its crescendo naturally.  

A dead battery in a Ferrari is JUST as dead as one in a Ford. Brain cells are like battery cells. It doesn't matter whether are hot or not If they are dead, they dead.

Animals generally stay the way they have been created/bred to be. In other words, a vulture will by nature NEVER BE a friendly trust-worthy pet. They react by INSTINCT, not by reasoned thought. Some people are like that too.

Amazing how much people have in common with pigs. A pig spends most of its life wallowing in dirt, and looks the part. Yet upon maturity, it becomes rendered and transformed into something at once pleasurable and nourishing. A person can also  be far less than beautiful, wallowing in the filth of life even as children. AND YET, upon maturity a person has the capacity to become transformed into something quite beautiful...even magical which in turn like the pig can bring pleasure and nourishment to others.

TRUST me. I have stuck my foot in my mouth so many times I could BE a shoe store. The tricky part is that tongue thingy. So,

take it from me. THINK first. SHOOT later. 

Brighten EVERYONE'S day. Including yours. Commit a random act of kindness. It always comes back RIGHT WHEN you need it to.

Life requires flexibility, just as successful athletes have. YOU must decide whether your talent lies in team sports or not. But life is usually not an either/or proposition  Sometimes you have to blend in and go with the flow. Other times one must strike out on one's own to be successful. Either way, paying close attention to the situation/circumstances is key. Be a listener. An observer. THEN...a doer. If you want to win life's gold, you gotta do the preparation, know your limits, and then do your best. NO  one can fault you for trying, but they WILL both cheer and envy your success.

Your DEGREE of success ALWAYS depends on whether you studied hard & did your homework. Better to be a B.A. (Beginning Achiever than a B.S. (Basically Shithead). 

Life IS a contact sport. TOUCH it and it touches back. Touch someone else and you both FEEL it. Standing shoulder to shoulder and hand in hand makes you stronger. The look of accomplishment in the eyes tells the story after the look of encouragement spurs you on during the battle.

I never knew what I was missing until I felt your hand moving into mine. I immediately sensed the exquisite feeling of knowing I am NOT alone.

DEEP IDEAS NORMALLY DO NOT EMANATE...from a shallow well. Shallow only skims the surface. I prefer DEPTH for it invigorates my very soul.

The adventure only begins at the waters edge. The waters edge only denotes the start of the journey. In order to EXPERIENCE the wonders of life, you HAVE TO jump into the water and swim like crazy.

You will NEVER BE a great swimmer until you get into the water.

You will never BE a real cowboy...until you get your boots dirty. A cowpokes work is never done. YOURS shouldn't be either.

NOTHING REALLY VALUABLE IN LIFE...is meant to be inside a fence. Fences don't just keep out the varmits but the good stuff too. Love yourself, Be yourself, Share yourself with all you encounter. Don't ever fence in the best you ARE. The rest of us need it too badly.
